In 2012, the 2nd SiliconPV conference in Leuven, Belgium was almost equally well attended, despite the very difficult market conditions faced by many PV companies. We welcomed 450 enthusiastic participants from 19 countries, and comments such as: “Best SiliconPV conference you could imagine,” were typical. The SiliconPV is now fully established, with an excellent reputation as a combined international conference, high-technology exhibition and networking event.

The SiliconPV conference series was founded in 2011. Our aim was to combine an outstanding high-class scientific program – based on a blind review process – with a communicative conference atmosphere, where welcome reception, lunches, coffee breaks and conference dinner are all included in the registration fee. Hosted by the Fraunhofer Institute of Solar Energy Systems ISE in Freiburg, the first SiliconPV conference was a huge success, with more than 550 participants from 21 countries.
